Speaker McCarthy and the Elephant Suddenly in the room
or What did Pfizer know and when did they know it?
I called it last Wednesday: by the end of the day Friday(ish), we had a Speaker!
Finally! And it only took 6,417 votes, more or less. After number 12 or so, I stopped counting and went to bed. I missed the brawl-that-wasn’t, but I’ve seen the video, so that’s okay.
I spent a couple of days trying to scope out the motivations of the key players before I had an epiphany—I was wasting my time. Yes, deals were made. McCarthy’s been working the caucus since before the election. No, we won’t ever find out about all of them. We do know some parts of THE DEAL that finally got McCarthy the gavel, but what we’ve been allowed to see is the proverbial tip of the iceberg. We’ll have to wait a bit to see the important things; namely, who gets on which committees and exactly what gets priority for investigation.
As for Trump’s motivation for backing McCarthy? Lots of people questioned that, especially when it came out that 45 was an active part of the process all last week, up until the final vote. I think there were several reasons initially, but now they’re all overridden by one big Reason: McCarthy owes his position to Donald J. Trump and continues to hold it at his sufferance. One sour Truth Social post, and a half-dozen House members will line up to fight Mike Rogers for the privilege of calling a no-confidence vote on Cali Kevin.
Trump won’t play that card lightly. We can expect McCarthy to work hard to see he’s not tempted to. There will be quite a few things done to keep the Freedom Caucus and the MAGA base happy, lest Mr. McCarthy be forced to change offices again.
McCarthy started his term as Speaker from a weak position, made worse by the fact that everyone knows it. This far, he’s accommodated the conservatives who opposed him on the first 14 votes on a number of issues. Some of these will have real impact—passing a Freedom Caucus-approved set of Rules, defunding those 87,000 ‘shoot to kill’ IRS agents, stripping Omar, Swalwell and Schiff of committee assignments—but others will be more symbolic than substantive.
That’s fine. Hearing the Dems bleating about “revenge” and “irrelevant investigations” is music to our ears. Unfortunately, the investigations won’t go nearly far enough to satisfy some of us. But, for now we’re content to let Jim Jordan get on with investigating the “weaponization” of the federal government against conservatives, with the anticipation that both mother and daughter Pelosi will testify (perjure themselves) under oath about their role in the January 6th not-an-insurrection.
A bit of sauce for the goose is in order, and stripping prominent Dems of plum committee assignments is just the first squeeze of that bottle. The promised floor votes on term limits and the Texas border plan should be coming up soon. We realize that both of these are DOA in the Senate thanks to Ultra-RINO Mitch McConnell, but they’re necessary as a demonstration of good faith on McCarthy’s part.
Turning Jim Jordan loose is another good-faith move McCarthy has to make, and as long as Jordan stays away from the morass that is US aide $$$ to Ukraine to FTX to Democrat (and McCarthy’s and McConnell’s) PACs, we can expect some fireworks in the near future. Fireworks is about all I expect from that. The Powers That Be aren’t going to allow any of the truly guilty to be punished as they ought—“Lock Her Up” ring any bells —and McCarthy won’t let Jordan dig into something (FTX) that could see both the Speaker and Senate Minority Leader facing prosecution.
For now, at least. Who can say what’ll happen in 2025?
There’s plenty out there to investigate, and more and more popping up each day. Biden’s Top Secret box-in-a-closet, Hunter’s laptop and it’s suppression before the 2020 election, hyping alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election (which the WaPo just admitted there was little evidence of any significant effect), the entire Biden crime family, collusion between Alphabet agencies and Big Tech to censor conservative views and opinions…
There’s an elephant in the room that nobody’s really talking about yet, but has the potential to blow up bigly—and make Kevin McCarthy the most famous Speaker in recent history if he plays his cards right. All he has to do is answer this to the satisfaction of the American people:
What did Pfizer know and when did they know it?
The issue is obviously more complicated than that, but that’s the talking point that Joe & Jane Six-pack will understand.
Given that it’s looking more and more like Pfizer and their co-conspirators at the FDA, CDC and NIAID knew (or were very suspicious) that the mRNA not-vaccines had some potentially serious downsides, the answer could very well be a seriously inconvenient truth.
Inconvenient for Pfizer’s bottom line. Inconvenient for Pfizer executives. Inconvenient for GovHealth bureaucrats and “experts”. Inconvenient for any number of healthcrats, minions and mouthpieces who screamed “get vaccinated” even as real-world evidence mounted that the jabs were neither safe nor effective at ameliorating COVID in any meaningful way.
If the answer is that Pfizer knew the jabs were “potentially worse than the disease it was intended to prevent” and “very early on”, then the House needs to find out just why the jab was pushed (and is still being pushed) so hard.
Cherry-picking data is one thing. Doing it on this kind of scale, then wanting it concealed for seven and a half decades is another thing altogether.
Had the Senate Republican majority materialized, Ron Johnson has said he was going to look for these answers. Thanks in large part to Mitch McConnell actively working against pro-America First candidates, the Red Wave didn’t happen. Johnson won’t be Chair of the Senate committee with the subpoena power to pursue it. Some day, McConnell will have to answer for that, but it won’t be today.
Rand Paul will be going after Fauci, and whoever runs this on the House side can pull private citizen Tony in for a few questions, too. Elon Musk can turn over the complete Twitter files, and between them, Fauci’s emails and Naomi Wolfe’s work on the Pfizer data, that’s a good starting point. From there, branch out to the intertwined, revolving-door relationships between the GovHealth alphabets and Big Pharma. Ask some hard questions about ivermectin, HCQ, remdesivir, the official COVID protocols, the financial incentives to follow them, the pressure brought against doctors who dared to disagree with Dr. “I am the Science”….
The list goes on, and on. Ultimately, the American people deserve to know just why they were forced to take the jab, and who was responsible for the forcing. They deserve to know why they were betrayed so throughly for so long. They deserve to know what punishments will be given and what restitution will be made.
What’s the value lost from all those young people dying “suddenly”? Can anybody even begin to calculate that? What could they have accomplished, had they not been struck down in their prime by what we’re now told may be Climate Change?
C’mon. Seriously? THAT’S The Narrative(tm) this week? What happened to cold showers causing heart attacks? And next week it’s going to be gas stoves, isn’t it?
It’s like you’re not even trying any more. You people really need to workshop this while you’re all in Davos for the WEFpalooza next week.
Back here in the ruins of the Republic, with more Americans dropping every day from “suddenly”, Speaker McCarthy can’t afford to wait to act on this particular elephant. People throw around the phrase “Church Commission” a lot, but in this case the seriousness of the issue (and the rising death tolls from “suddenly”) merits that level of investigation—if not more.
Last week hammered home the old ways McCarthy is used to aren’t going to cut it going forward. The natives are restless, and the blood in the water may soon be his. He’s done well his first few days, but he’s got to move on these issues soon.
The American people saw Kevin McCarthy’s epic fight to become Speaker. They’re waiting to see if he’ll fight that hard for them while young Americans are literally dropping dead around them.
