I have some Thanksgiving advice for politically divided families. Don't place knives on the dinner table (they aren't really needed anyway), and don't talk politics in the kitchen (where sharp knives are present).
We visited my aunt and cousin in SC after a 2 day conference for work. They are what I would call 'Country Club Republicans'. They are boomers and still think the media tells them the truth. When I told them the Charlottesville Robert E Lee statue was melted down last week, they were upset by it. They also were proud that Charleston had just voted out their mayor who had allowed BLM and Antifa thugs to vandalize and loot King Street for 1 night during the 2020 summer of social justice. Those are just examples of how conservative their values are. While watching a segment on CNN about Biden, I asked them if they liked Biden or did they want someone else to be the Dem nominee - seemed like a safe question to ask. I usually just listen to what they say because I know they irrationally hate Trump, but they aren't overly political. The Boomers are worse than I thought. They STILL think that Trump is a Russian Agent working directly for Putin! They also think he will be convicted and jailed and Nikki Haley is the greatest thing since sliced bread. (Obviously, they aren't aware or have forgotten that Haley was the one who killed the Confederate Flag at the SC capital without anyone even having to ask for it.) When I suggested that Trump will probably be the GOP nominee, my Aunt flipped out and said she would move to France if he got elected. They have no clue what's coming... So I have decided to do what I did in 2016 - take a day off on the Wednesday after the election. Even if there's only a small chance that Trump wins, I don't want to miss Mika, Joe, the View crew, and all of the other liberal pundits talking about how miserable and upset they are.
The Israel - Gaza war has devolved into a 'who's the biggest victim?' contest and Israel is losing, badly. I'm sort of shocked at how bad the IDF is at propaganda. Gen Z and Millennials are doing exactly what they were taught to do - empathize with the non-white group because 'white privilege' bad. Maybe our completely misguided experiment in Cultural Marxism and educational indoctrination will come to an end. The Boomers are reaping what they sowed and whining through crocodile tears 'The West is Dead'. The Woke Right has outed themselves as utter hypocrites. There is a cultural anchor in our society and we are at the peak of our prime. If we aren't able to turn things around now, we'll be known as the last generation that was proud to be American.
Already working on the “how to spice up your holiday dinner” guide for irritating RINO & libtard family members. Because who really wants a boring dinner with the root rot in the family tree?
