Glitch Mitch McConnell and his creatures John Thune, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins are the Senate RINOs poised to thwart President Trump’s appointments and agenda—if we let them.
Since the end of last year, I have been looking on the bright side a lot... 2026 is supposed to be a good cycle for Dems wrt Senate elections - 21 seats up for GOP incumbents and 12 up for Dems. But the Dems have a real problem coming. Almost all of the GOP Senators are in safe states except for 2: Thom Tillis (NC) and our friend Susan Collins. The Dems have 3-5 which are in toss-up or lean Dem states. It wouldn't surprise me if someone like Jon Ossoff and maybe another Dem start doing what Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema did.
The other bright side, imho. Congress has delegated so much power to the Executive Branch over the decades, I don't think Trump needs their help to do most of what he wants to do. Just because Congress appropriates funds, doesn't mean the Agency/Department has to spend it does it? I think we are all going to learn a lot next year. I'm looking forward to getting your updates.
